Chapter 14: The Last Lie She Told Before Losing Everything
Sienna wanted us to follow her.
That was the only explanation.
She knew we had the evidence.
She knew we had uncovered the truth.
And instead of running…
She invited us closer.
Which meant one thing.
She believed she still had power.
But she had made the same mistake everyone else made.
She underestimated me.
We found her at the old foundation building.
The place that used to represent everything I believed in.
A place I created with my father’s values.
Helping families.
Supporting people who had nowhere else to turn.
Now it belonged to someone who used kindness as a weapon.
Sienna stood in the lobby when we arrived.
Calm.
Perfectly dressed.
Almost like she was expecting us.
“You came.””
I stared at her.
“You knew we would.””
“Yes.””
Julian stepped forward.
“Why?””
Sienna looked at him.
For a moment, something like regret appeared.
Then it disappeared.
“Because I needed you to understand.””
“Understand what?””
“That you were never in control.””
Julian looked disgusted.
“You destroyed my life.””
She tilted her head.
“No.””
Her answer was immediate.
“You destroyed your own life.””
The words were cruel.
But that was Sienna.
She always knew how to twist truth into something poisonous.
“You believed what you wanted to believe,” she continued.
“You wanted a reason to leave Clara. I simply gave you one.””
Julian looked away.
Because deep down, he knew.
Sienna had manipulated him.
But he had been willing to be manipulated.
I stepped forward.
“Why me?””
Sienna smiled.
Finally.
The question she had been waiting for.
“Because you had everything.””
I shook my head.
“No.””
“Yes.””
Her voice became emotional.
“You had the family. The respect. The love. The future.””
She pointed around the building.
“This foundation had your name.””
I stared at her.
“So you destroyed me because you were jealous?””
She laughed.
“Not jealous.””
A pause.
“Motivated.””
That word told me everything.
She didn’t think she was evil.
She thought she was justified.
“I deserved what you had.””
I looked at her.
“You didn’t deserve my pain.””
Her expression hardened.
“No.””
She stepped closer.
“But I deserved your opportunities.””
The honesty was almost worse than the lies.
“You used my friendship.””
“Yes.””
“You used my medical records.””
“Yes.””
“You had my marriage destroyed.””
“Yes.””
“You had Julian believe I was infertile.””
She smiled slightly.
“Yes.””
Julian looked sick.
“How could you?””
Sienna turned toward him.
“Because you were easy.””
The words destroyed him.
“You wanted someone to blame.””
Julian said nothing.
“And Clara gave you the perfect excuse.””
I watched the man who once broke my heart finally understand.
Not because he loved me again.
But because he finally saw the truth.
He had been a weapon.
And Sienna knew exactly how to use him.
Then sirens appeared outside.
Sienna’s expression changed.
“What is that?””
I looked at Ethan.
He smiled slightly.
“The authorities.””
Sienna stepped back.
“You called them?””
“No.””
I looked at her.
“My father did.””
She froze.
“What?””
Ethan held up the drive.
“Your entire operation is documented.””
For the first time…
Sienna looked afraid.
Not angry.
Not confident.
Afraid.
“You don’t understand.””
She looked at me.
“If I go down, everyone goes down.””
“Maybe.””
I watched her carefully.
“But the difference between you and me is that I can admit when I was wrong.””
She laughed.
“You think you won?””
I looked around the building.
The place she stole.
The life she tried to take.
“Yes.””
Her eyes narrowed.
“Why?””
“Because you spent years trying to become me.””
I stepped closer.
“And I spent one year learning how to live without you.””
The doors opened.
Investigators entered.
Sienna didn’t fight.
She just stared at me.
Almost like she still couldn’t understand.
How the woman she thought was weak had become the person standing above her.
As she was taken away, she said one final thing.
“Clara.””
I stopped.
“You’ll never forgive yourself for trusting me.””
I looked at her.
“No.””
May you like
I walked away.
“I’ll forgive myself for surviving you.””
